Hey, so some douchébag stole my youtube music video, and re-uploaded it as theirs.

All I’m wondering is, can I report it as a copyright infringement, because the video contains a song that I haven’t created. So if I report this guy for stealing my video, will it all just backfire at me?

I already did flag the video as a copyright infringement.

This same thing happened to me. If you do report it, both videos might be taken down… Since you already flagged it, just hope Youtube lets it go.

You can try putting a notice in the description (like I did with my video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eobY9jwZBZU ) as well as sending a message to the guy who stole your video asking him to take it down or you’ll report him. Even though you won’t report him, this might scare him into taking it down.

Also, leave a comment on the video telling him to take it down and telling other people that this is your music video, not his. He’ll delete the comment but it’ll allow other people to see that its stolen (if the video is getting views)

If he doesn’t take it down, let it go. Yes, it sucks that he stole it (trust me, I know!) but there’s nothing you can do. And if you harass him by commenting, he might report you. Plus commenting will also get him views and if he passes up your video in views, more people will go to him.

I know that the music industry has been turned upside down with the rise of the internet and reduces the need for a contract with a big time label. I would like to release some material for download…what are the most popular sites to post music for unsigned artists? What are the steps?

I’m having a hard time looking for some music, but to download any thing that allows free music is impassable for me to find, everyone is able to get free music, but I just can’t seem to figure out were to start. To sum it up, I would like to have free music with out doing it Illegally, and no viruses. Please?

I hear some rappers calling themselves "modern day griots" and its stupid.Rock music is more related to Africa and rock is the same as the grioting that the Africans did before they sold their own people to America.I think rap is a disgrace to black people and I think Rhythm and Blues,soul,funk is REAL black music like from the 1970’s.Bottomline hip hop should have never existed period it has set black people back.

I freaking hate rap too. They are always cursing saying the N word and bragging about how many HO’s and B*TCHES they been with. And they brag about how much money and bling bling they got. And how they are hecka Gangsta and wanna blast people. That is insane. You call that music? I just listen to ROCK. I like music with a good beat and not too much cursing.

Hi, I am 17 and i am planning to pursue a music degree and I like Rock music.So what kind of music degree should i pursue?

Universities may offer many different types of music majors, including:

Music Performance
Music Education
Music Composition
Music Business/Management
Music Production and Engineering
Electronic Production and Design or Music Recording Technology

To name a few of the more common ones out there. What kind of music degree you pursue would generally directly correspond to what you’d want to do with it. If you’re desire was wanting to write music, you’d likely pursue composition. If you wanted to be a high school band/choir teacher, you’d likely pursue music education. And so on…

But when looking for a University for a music degree, make sure you do your research. Not every University will offer a wide variety of different music majors to choose from. Some may only offer a basic music degree, whereas others will offer several different types.
