What music videos are out there that are long and symbolic, and can be analyzed for an English analysis paper?

My assignment is to write a 5 page analysis on a music video, analyzing its themes and patterns. Does anyone know of any music videos that would be good for my assignment? Thanks!

You might not like the style(hard rock with one screamed line at the end of the chorus), but "Death of Me" by Red is awesome. So is "Feed The Machine", but it’s really heavy. They have awesome, story-telling, symbolic videos. "Already Over", "Breathe Into Me", "Ordinary World", all those have great videos.

But the video for "Death of Me" is probably the most symbolic.

I’ve downloaded music videos on my computer But when I put these videos on my camera(I get bored so I watch videos on my camera),it say it can’t play it. What should I do?

The camera is not a viewing device. Get one of those cheap MP4, MP5 or MP-whatever players instead.

Is it illegal to make music videos but without the actual music?

I am thinking about making creative music videos to put on my blog (that i intend to make money with). If I include the music (not mine) in the video then that would probably be copyright infringement. But what if I don’t include it and instead give people links to the music so that they can then play it themselves as background music? If this is still illegal, are there any legal loopholes? PS: I’ve heard of audioswap but it doesn’t have the music i want.

As long as you are not directly promoting any theft of the music and the link you provide goes to a reputable source you should be ok. HOWEVER…. If you are taking money from people to watch your video with ANY kind of "PROMOTION" of the music you would likely be in breach of copyright by familiarality. At the very least, the PRS and others would be on you like flies on a turd. I really wouldn’t do it.

It would be like someone trying to sell tickets for a concert where the tickets let you stand in a street half a mile away to listen.

It does not allow me to drag it.

Videos, video recording, and music videos were all removed from the 6th generation. The 5t generation had them. Sorry.

For example, is there a hip-hop video that starts with a radio news report? I feel like this is the case. Looking for examples of music videos that start with a voiceover, preferably from the radio (imagine a radio DJ talking as we see the set up / we then kick off with a video). I need to make a music video for this freestyle thing I’m doing and I want it to look quite professional. Is it possible to purchase a video camera that people use to make real music videos. I don’t want the camera to shake while I’m filming. I want it to be completely still and smooth. Any suggestions?

Hi Sarah:

"Real" music videos are produced by full crews of professional video/film and sound people with thousands of dollars of equipment (and years of experience in the various crafts involved).

This isn’t to say that you (like other amateurs) can’t produce a good video, just don’t get your hopes up expecting star-quality on your first try.

As far as camera and the "no shake" thing, a tripod is used to hold the camera steady, and some tripods (the good ones) cost more than the camera that’s sitting on it. If you don’t need fancy camera "moves" (pans & tilts), just a good low-cost tripod will hold a camera still.

Fancy camera moves can also involve things like a camera "dolly" (rolling platform on special wheels or tracks) or a "crane" (just what it sounds like).

A professional video camera can cost $5000 or $50,000. A knowledgeable video camera operator can get a "pro" look out of cheaper equipment (just like a good carpenter can make beautiful furniture with basic hand tools). You might put a notice up at a local college (or Art Institute) that has a film or video department, and check to see if your local cable company has a Community Access program for citizens to use. Either place will have eager students or volunteers willing to work on a project such as yours.

My other suggestion would be to make a trip to your library and read a book or two on video production and/or film-making techniques.

I have some music videos of songs that I would like to add to my music playlist. How do I add the music video so it plays the song? I tried adding it to the playlist like any other song but it doesn’t play unless I have the screen on and am watching the video. I did purchase the music video from the iTunes store. Hey everyone, what is the best video editor to edit music videos? Like it would have lots of effect, easy masking or green screening & stuff like that. It doesn’t matter if it costs money or it’s free. But what is the best editing program for music videos, the program that would make music video editing easiest.
