My iTunes won’t allow me to download music to my iPhone because I need iTunes 8.2 or higher. The issue is that when I download a later version of iTunes that starts demanding a later version of Safari. The issue went on and on and I ended up losing my music! Thankfully, I managed to downgrade again and retrieve my music. Is there any way I can download music from my iTunes to my iPhone without upgrading?

How does music literally take you on a trip? Sometimes you don’t know exactly what it is your feeling, but some types of music can really bring it out. Some songs move you a little, some can move you A LOT. Any music lover can relate to this. The odd feelings that some songs can bring out of your mind from the first listen. As the title shows, what are some best music making programs that are free as well as downloadable off the internet?

By music making programs, I mean point-and-click programs that involve making your own music with different instruments sounds and beats.

I am a musician and I want to compose music on my computer to perform with and play live. I have been given two music notation software products. Cakewalk "Sonar" and and Band in a Box. Which one is best for compsition as far as chord creation,instrument parts and music notation?

I’ve been using Noteworthy Composer for many years now, and found it very useful for writing multiple instrument parts, as you can hear back what you’ve written.  You can use the computer keyboard for note writing very easily.  There’s also a good support community for it, and it’s very reasonable priced and a comparatively small download.  You can download a free trial and see if it fits your needs.

Everyone can get music from internet or from pirated cds at very low rate. Then how the music industry can still survive in india. And if downloading music from free site like songs.pk is illegal then why govt. do not put ban on these sites.
@shobha- but the people always buy the pirated cd because it cost 5 times less than the originals.

Most of the world still cannot afford the luxury of a home computer and so will still continue to buy from stores where available. They still can make money this way.

Hi, I am 17 and i am planning to pursue a music degree and I like Rock music.So what kind of music degree should i pursue?

Universities may offer many different types of music majors, including:

Music Performance
Music Education
Music Composition
Music Business/Management
Music Production and Engineering
Electronic Production and Design or Music Recording Technology

To name a few of the more common ones out there. What kind of music degree you pursue would generally directly correspond to what you’d want to do with it. If you’re desire was wanting to write music, you’d likely pursue composition. If you wanted to be a high school band/choir teacher, you’d likely pursue music education. And so on…

But when looking for a University for a music degree, make sure you do your research. Not every University will offer a wide variety of different music majors to choose from. Some may only offer a basic music degree, whereas others will offer several different types.
