How do you remove music from a movie clip and keep the voices on Audacity?

May 8, 2010 - 11:49 pm 1 Comment

I have a handful of movie clips for my English project. The only downside is that they come with music that is different from the music I’m using. My question is, how do you remove or mute music from a movie clip, that’s been converted to a audio file, and still have the music? Is that even possible?

Please be as detailed as possible.

Look up "sample inversion" on youtube.you will need a program called cool edit pro.

Die Hard – Music Video – NEW 4th Verse!

May 7, 2010 - 4:00 pm 25 Comments

www.GuyzNite.com – “Die Hard” by Guyz Nite

Remember when we first met John McClane?
Argyle picked him up from the plane,
And took him down to Nakatomi Tower…
To meet with Holly.

He came to get her back and to be her man,
But Hans and his buddies up the plan,
And that’s about when everything went sour
At the Christmas party.

And the terrorists were over-zealous,
But it was sweet when they killed Ellis!
And, with a little help from Allen,
John McClane kicked ass!

We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die as hard as we can!

No one dies harder than John McClane,
Even when his wife’s stuck on a plane
About to crash into the Potomac River…
On the eve of Christmas.

And airport security kicked him out,
But John McClane is just too proud,
And nothing could have made him not deliver…
‘Cause that’s his business!

And with a lot of fights and gunplay
He blew that plane up on the runway.
And, with a little help from Allen,
Holly’s plane could land!

We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die as hard as we can!

Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!

No one dies harder than John McClane,
Saving all the passengers on the train.
But Simon wasn’t clear with his intentions:
It was just a distraction!

And there was no way McClane could know
That Hans Gruber was Simon’s bro.
And that’s what made it “Die Hard: With A Vengeance”
With Samuel Jackson!

And the good cop wouldn’t miss this,
Even though it wasn’t Christmas.
He didn’t get any help from Allen…
But only in part three!

We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die as hard as we can!

Finally we’re back with John McClane
Now we got a choice, and the choice is plain:
We can live free or we can die hard,
As hard as we can.

From taking on a terrorist he’s never met,
To taking on an F-35 jet,
With the greatest car explosions by far…
This sure looks sweet, man!

And we know what the basic gist is:
There ain’t no Allen, and it’s not Christmas.
We don’t know but we’re pretty sure that
John McClane kicks ass!

We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die, die hard!
We’re gonna die, die, die as hard as we can!

Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!

How do I transfer music from one iTunes list to another?

May 6, 2010 - 9:09 am 1 Comment

Alright, so I’ve got like 3 different computers, and I have an iTunes list on each of them and have different music on all of them. So, is there a way that I can compile all my music onto one computer? I know there’s a website out there, but I can’t remember what it’s called. Other than burning all my music onto database CDs or separate music discs, can I get all my songs from one computer to another?
Thank ya!

IM the files then import them to iTunes.

Black Music in America – ca. mid-1970’s

May 4, 2010 - 10:33 am 25 Comments

This tremendous educational documentary from the mid-1970’s examines the priceless contributions of African-Americans to musical heritage, so closely tied to their unique history in the United States. From Africa upon slave ships captive immigrants brought with them melodies, cadences and rhythms that inarguably gave rise to music considered ‘modern’ today.

Beginning with the genius Louis Armstrong’s triumphant return to Ghana in the late 1950’s, we trace the evolution of music from West Africa to the Virginia colonies of the early 1600’s. Over the next 400 years, as this distinct root of American culture takes hold, incredible clips of filmed performances by Mahalia Jackson, Josephine Baker, Bessie Smith, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Coleman Hawkins, Roy Eldridge, and Duke Ellington illustrate the black experience.

Contemporary musicians such as Nina Simone, BB King, Cannonball Adderly (w/ Joe Zawinal – Mercy, Mercy, Mercy), and Sly & the Family Stone, along with a funky-ass filmed number from an as-yet-undocumented-on-the-internet off-Broadway production called “The Me Nobody Knew” punctuate the memory of the past, the spontaneity of the moment and determination for the future.

How do you add music to Powerpoint 2007 but also add it to a portable flash-drive?

May 4, 2010 - 4:16 am 2 Comments

I have to take present Powerpoint presentations to school, but I need to add music to it. The last time I did it, I added the music to the presentation but the music didn’t play at all. I can’t just take my computer to school, so I put the Powerpoint on my flash drive. Do I have to add the music file that I added to my presentation on my flashdrive as well?

when you insert the audio, you just link to that file. once you move your slids to other computer, the music will not play because the music is not stored in that computer. to play it, you have two ways:

1) always put your music in the same fold with your slides. that means you need to add the music to your flash drive

2) embed, not only link the music to your powerpoint. please follow the following step;

1. Make sure your music is in WAV format (mp3 files can only be linked and not embedded)
2. Increase the value in the Link sounds with file size greater than box to a value greater than the file size of the MP3 file.
For example if the file size is 4.5MB then you will need to include a value higher than 4500. A good general purpose size that should incorporate most song files is 6000 as most mp3 files are less than 6MB. Be careful as some classical music tracks could be longer than this. The only downside is that the file size of the final file could be quite large.
There is a 50 Mb limit for embedding WAV files. For example if you had two WAV files of 34 MB the you will be able to embed them, but it would make your file size over 68MB.

How do you put music from Dtunes into your Ipod touch music library?

May 2, 2010 - 1:13 am 2 Comments

I downloaded songs on Dtunes and I was wondering how to put the music into my music library? I would like a step by step way to do it. Also I would sooner do it without a computer and putting it into my music library only using my iphone/ipod touch. If there is no way that is fine too.

Thanks so much!

God bless!

Sorry, no way, unless you want to SSH, which is really complicated for most people. If you still want to, please give me best answer and contact me at wompa0502@gmail.com
