Someone asked me why Black women listen to rap music when it makes us look like "h0es" and even though I don’t really like rap, I just never really gave it much thought. Even though the guys are Black, I kind of just associated what they said with all women, and not just Black women, but idk. Do other people?

I dont care what a rapper says because I KNOW Im not a hoe and thats all that matters.

I love rap music but famous comedians, people I know, and sometimes even I make jokes about it. List a couple you like.

I’m not saying only certain people should listen to certain music, but more questioning why white people (particularly males) are the biggest consumers of rap music.

I suspect it’s because rap music promotes stereotypes that (some, not all!) white people deem as true. These stereotypes include blacks being impoverished, hypersexualized, uneducated, violent, materialistic, etc.

Being that the entertainment industry is run by rich white males who have little or no personal contact with women and minorities, do you believe they endorse the idea of stereotypical blacks towards the same kind of people who agree with their ideas?

God knows. I can only think that they believe that by listening to it they’re somehow ‘cool’, as if they’re buying into the whole ‘gangsta’ concept without the trouble of having to deal with black people.

Ok. so i got a big problem, me and my friends are in to hip-hop and rap music. and it seems that by the time i hear a song i think is awesome, my friends have already heard it and and are giving me heck for listening to it. so if someone out there could give me a website where i could find the newest and hottest hip-hop and rap music that would be great.

So for my sweet sixteen, I’m planning out all the music. I absolutely dislike any and all rap music. I told my friend that I would not be playing it, and she says that no one at my party will dance. I think hip hop and pop music would be enough. (Such as Lady Gaga, Bieber, Rhianna, Britney Spears, etc.) Should I let her ruin my party, and do you think I NEED to have rap music to have a good party?

Hardly any black person I know listens to that trash..rap music is the worst thing to happen to black Americans since slavery.

I really don’t think that rap is music it is just words and beat . I mean by the good music rock and metal . They are music . I really can’t listen to rap music excluding hip hop . But i still prefer rock and metal.

I hate rap too and I’m a teen. It’s just words with a beat. I don’t see why some people like it, but that’s their preference. Many old parents that were born in the early 1900s thought rock was weird, bad music. It stayed and chanced are that rap will stay also.

im doing a compare and contrast paper on how songs back in the 80’s condemed drugs, for example master of puppets…… and now recent rap music has been glorifying it, such as im shade, by eminem in 1999.

im askijng for help, i need more examples of more recent songs by known artists that have been glorifying drugs. more recent songs, im shady by eminem is good but its kinda far away (1999)

…with that said….outside of a few weed songs or references here and there….i don’t see much glorification of drugs…Just because you say your doing drugs doesn’t mean you are giving praise to it…even though others may see it as being cool after hearing it….
